What are your rates for stage and equipment rental?

Shoot us an email outlining the details of your project such stages and equipment needed, and we will provide a quote.

What equipment is offered for delivery?

At the moment, Bolt Jr+, Trinity 2, and Phantom Flex4K are offered for delivery across Ontario. We are looking to expand our list of equipment available for delivery in the near future, so sign up for our newsletter and stay tuned!

Where can you guys deliver the equipment?

We have our own trucks that can deliver the equipment anywhere in Ontario (the delivery fee varies depending on the distance from our studio in Mississauga).

Do you have BoltX and BoltJr+ operators in-house?

Yes! We have 2 BoltX operators, as well as 3 Bolt Jr+ operators. They’re great guys, you’ll love ‘em!

What is so special about your LED Volume?

Well, everything really. It features 1.9 pixel pitch panels by Absen, making it the highest resolution LED volume in Canada. It also comes with ARRI lighting grid, with 9 Orbiters and 11 Skypanels controlled by GrandMA3 and connected to Unreal Engine. This provides much more control over lighting than a typical LED panel ceiling. We would mention more things that make our LED volume special, but you’ll likely get bored reading it all (unless you’re a nerd like us), so come by for a tour instead!

How many people can we bring to the studio?

You can bring up to 65 people. We have 30 parking spots on-site, and overflow parking is available on request, so bring your crew and let’s rock!

Do you create 3D environments in Unreal Engine for the LED wall?

Absolutely, and they look amazing! We have an existing library of assets and environments, and our team of Unreal Engine developers can create any custom-built environment to bring your vision to life!

Do you offer discounts for studio + equipment rental?

No. Just kidding, of course we do, we are just that nice. Believe it or not, the coffee is also on us.

Are pets allowed in the studio?

Yes, but only if they’re good boys. In all seriousness, we welcome all furry friends if they’re involved in production (but please don’t bring an elephant).

Will there ever be multiple productions happening in one day?

Nope, regardless of the stage you get, you will have the studio all to yourselves. Of course, our crew will be there to assist you with equipment, and to make sure you don’t drink all our wine (we actually don’t have any, but still have to be sure).

Do you offer creative consulting (art direction, set design, etc)?

Technically no, we are a studio and equipment rental company, meaning you should be the one with ideas. But, we do like to get creative at times, and if you ever need help we would always be happy to spend half the day brainstorming with you, and another half the day chatting, because why not.

I have another question!

Great! That means there could be another important question we can add here. Shoot us an email and we will respond.

Can I visit the studio before making a booking?

You can and you absolutely should! Click "here" to book a tour and we will make sure to discuss anything you'd like to know (stages, equipment, movie recommendations, best tacos in town, you name it).

Do you create assets and environments in Unreal Engine for the LED Volume?

What is the rental rate for the LED Volume?

Can't wait to already try it? Well, that makes sense. Shoot us an email outlining the details of your project, and we'll provide a quote.

How does a typical LED Volume rental work?

We start off with understanding your project needs (production length, environments needed, crew size, etc). We then start preparing for the shoot, from assets and environments in Unreal Engine to stage props and equipment. You also need to provide "liability insurance" (this toy is very expensive, so we recommend to just be careful). Prior to the shoot, we always provide a "previsualization" of the project, and you have a prelight day to prepare for the actual shoot. On the day of the shoot, we let you do the magic, and our crew is there to assist you if needed.

What is included in LED Volume Stage rental?

The rental comes with full access to the LED Volume, ARRI LED lighting grid controlled by GrandMA3, and our Unreal Engine specialist along with our Virtual Production supervisor. On top of that, the entire studio is yours to use. From our cozy couches and a kitchen with an empty fridge (don't worry we'll fill it up before you come), to a cyclorama that you can use for gear set up, or to even shoot another scene. Note that any assets and environments for the LED Volume are not included in standard rental rate.

How high is the ceiling?

The ceiling is 20ft high.

Why should I choose your cyclorama over any other one?

Sure, there are dozens of big cycloramas around, but what makes ours special is not the cyclorama itself, but the tech around it. With ARRI LED lighting grid controlled by GrandMA3 you have more control over lighting than your own fingertips. You can also use BoltX or Bolt Jr+ with tracks to film (bet you won't find many cycloramas that have those). Our loading docks are literally 10 feet away from the cyclorama, so getting all the props in will also be a breeze. Want to get a lambo in for a shot? No problem, we have a separate dock for cars as well.

What is included in Cyclorama Stage rental?

Cyclorama Stage rental comes with full access to the cyclorama, ARRI LED lighting grid controlled by GrandMA3, and our crew who will be there to assist you if needed. All stage props, paint jobs, and anything else you might need for your project are not included in standard rental rate.

The Cyclorama Stage is directly across from LED Volume Stage, does that mean we get to use both?

Good try. You get access to the Cyclorama Stage if you are renting LED Volume, but not the other way around. You will only be able to use the Cyclorama Stage, but no other productions will be taking place at other stages during your shoot.

Will we get a discount if we rent Cyclorama Stage with equipment?

Maybe, depends if it's a full moon. Jokes aside, we can provide some great discounts for package rentals, shoot us an email and let's chat more about it.

Can we paint the cyclorama?

Yes, we can paint it for you for an additional charge.

How high is the ceiling?

The ceiling is 20ft high.

Can I use the Kitchen Stage to cook?

Of course, it's a kitchen after all! Our Kitchen Stage is fully operational and equipped with top-of-the line appliances. We made sure you have everything you'd ever need to create culinary magic (and hopefully share a bite with us).

Can we change the look of the Kitchen Stage?

The island is movable, and we can fully customize the kitchen with props if needed. Kitchen colour and appliances cannot be changed.

What is included in the Kitchen Stage rental?

Is the Shower Stage functional?

Yes, even has hot water.

Can we change the look of the Shower Stage?

We can bring in any props needed, and the shower head can also be changed. The tiles and the shower itself cannot be changed.

Is there enough space inside to film?

There is enough space to set up the cameras and gear, but some equipment such as the Bolt Jr+ would not fit in the stage.

What is included in the Shower Stage rental?

Shower Stage rental comes with full access to the stage, and it does not include any equipment (we do have great package deals available though, just shoot us an email). Our team will also be there to assist if needed.

How is BoltX different from normal Bolt?

Bolt X is the latest motion control robot released by MRMC. It comes with a longer arm reach and almost twice the camera speed (9.7 m/s vs 5 m/s). It provides much greater flexibility for capturing shots at high speed. You can read more about how awesome Bolt X is on the MRMC website.

What is included in the BoltX rental?

Bolt X rental comes with the Bolt X itself, as well as one of our operators. Note that Bolt X can only be used inside the studio. We can also provide great package deals for renting stage, camera, lenses, grip and lighting along with Bolt X.

Which cameras are available for delivery?

Do you have prep bays at the studio?

Yes, we have prep bays available at the studio, and we provide them for any camera rental.

Can we bring in our own cameras for the shoot?

What camera support do you have available?

Dollies, grip, tripods, motion control, you name it. Have a look at our "grip" selection for more info.

What are your rental rates for cameras?

Eager to try them? Send us an email briefly outlining your production needs and we'll provide you with a quote. If you plan on renting multiple pieces of equipment, we'll throw in one of our package deals as well!

What if I break the camera?

We'll be very sad, and we don't like to be sad. This is why we require a liability insurance for every rental. We encourage you to be careful with the equipment, and to never hesitate and ask our team for help if needed.

Are lenses included with camera rental?

Standard camera rental does not include lenses, and you have to rent them separately. But don't worry, our pricing is great. Shoot us an email and we'll work out a quote for you!

Can we bring our own lenses?

Yes, you can bring any of your own equipment with you.

Do you have anamorphic zoom?

Yes, we have Atlas Orion silver edition anamorphic prime lenses and an Angenieux Optimo anamorphic 56-152 A2S.

Are lights included in the rental?

When renting cyclorama or LED volume stages, every rental includes Arri lighting grid. Ground lights must be rented out separately. Kitchen and shower stage rentals don't come with lighting included.

Do you have a lighting board operator for GrandMA3?

No, we don't provide an in-house lighting board operator at the moment. You will need to bring your own operator.

What lighting control system do you use?

All of our lighting, including Arri lighting grid and ground lights, can be controlled by the GrandMA 3 console.

Do you have a jib?

Of course! We have the MovieTech Kirin Duo Jib attachment for the Magnum Dolly.

Do you have Bolt JR+ operators?

Yes! We have 4 operators certified to work with Bolt JR+, and they're awesome guys! Every motion control rental includes one of our operators.

Is Bolt JR+ available for delivery?

Yes, and that's what makes it special. Unlike the Bolt X, Bolt JR+ is very compact and easy to set up. We are able to deliver it anywhere in Ontario with our grip truck, and its small size also makes it ideal for shooting in tight areas.

What is the difference between Bolt JR+ and Bolt X?

You can think of Bolt JR+ as a little brother to Bolt X. It is smaller and lighter, which makes it easier to set up and move around. It's a perfect choice for shooting on-location and in smaller spaces. Despite its size, Bolt JR+ is still incredibly fast, and just like Bolt X, it can be used both on and off tracks. Its movements are also programmed using Flair, MRMC's premier motion control software.

What is included in Bolt JR+ rental?

Every Bolt JR+ rental includes the cinebot itself, along with our certified operator for an additional cost. Tracks can also be provided on request. For on-location delivery, delivery fee also applies and varies depending on the location.
